About Us Hello, and welcome to our site! We are small family of four, Terry, Beverly, Tyler, and Dan Nelson. Terry and I were married in 1989. We grew up in the same small town of Newton, MS and our families lived only only about 5 miles apart. We now live in Hickory, MS. Currently we own, with Terry’s brother-n-law and sister, a small printing company in Newton. We are a very close family!! The business was started 30 years ago by his father, Benny Nelson. The kids and “Shorty Bell, Boogie and Lillie” were all raised at Nelson Printing, Inc. I own, love, show and raise the Boston terriers! They are really like part of my family. We have always had a Boston. My husband grew up with one as a family pet. After we bought the business from Terry’s dad, we bought a little mis-marked female from Rev. Hisaw in Meridian, MS. Never would I have thought she would steal our hearts. Shorty Bell was the sweetest Boston ever! When she was 1.5 we moved to the home we live in now. (our third house) We show horses and she loved to ride with me sometimes. One afternoon, after she and I had finished riding, I stepped into the house to check on Tyler and Dan. I had left Shorty Bell outside unattended (something you should never do with a these Boston babies) and my neighbors pit bull had killed her. Grief doesn’t describe the loss of Shorty Bell! She was never out of our sight. She went everywhere with me. Never missed a day of work in her life. After a week, Terry loaded us all up and went to buy a new puppy. Thus, Lillie Bell, came to live with us. She is a character, and Dan’s pride and joy. She can do no wrong in his eyes! A few weeks after we got Lillie, Rev. Hisaw called the shop to tell Terry that Shorty’s mom had one baby and that we needed to come and see it. We went the next week and could not believe our eyes! Boogie was almost identical to Shorty. Boogie took right over Shorty’s roll as the Printing Shop mascot. She comes to work with me everyday. Shorty Bell had been spaded when she was 6 months and I had regretted that very much after we lost her. So, we decided to let Boogie have a litter. That was the start of it all! Boogie has since been spaded and my focus is now on producing as close to the AKC standard as possible, and for the purpose of producing my next show prospect. I have been showing since 2009. I give credit for that to Chaos. I get really nervous at the shows, and probably would have been content with hiring a handler and watching from the sidelines. I even tried this route, but he wouldn't have it. He will only show for me, and he and I have managed to do ok for beginners. He forced me to push myself, and I know I will proud that he did in the long run. I am very proud of him, and he will always have a very special place in my heart!!! Although, I would like all puppies to be show prospects, that is not always the case. So, I do have pet puppies available to loving family homes. I love seeing people get to share in the thrill of owning a Boston! Call me or email, I love to talk about the bostons! Terry, Beverly, Tyler and Dan |
